Marrakech 5 Day Itinerary 2026: Deep Stay with Atlas Mountains & Agafay Desert

Planning your trip? See our Discover Marrakech guide and what to see in Marrakech.

The complete 5-day Marrakech itinerary for visitors who want the full experience without rushing. 5 days lets you combine two iconic excursions — Atlas Mountains AND Agafay desert — instead of choosing one. Written by Eric, French owner of Riad Vendome since 2013, this is the recommended plan for honeymoon couples, families with kids, retirees, cultural travellers, and first-time Morocco visitors. Total cost from €700/person at Riad Vendome all-included (5 nights with breakfast, cooking class, spa session, Atlas Mountains day trip, half-day Agafay desert).

Compared to the 4-day version, the 5-day itinerary adds a full Atlas Mountains day trip (Imlil village, mule trek, Berber lunch) — a completely different landscape from the city and the stone desert. You experience the 3 Moroccan landscapes in one trip: medina (UNESCO old city), Atlas (high mountains, Berber villages, snow in winter), Agafay (rocky lunar desert with Atlas backdrop). With this depth, you actually understand Morocco beyond the tourist clichés.

💡 Pro tip from Eric: if you have 5 days, do Atlas Day 4 (full day, energetic) BEFORE Agafay Day 5 (half day, sunset focus). The order matters: you want the most active day in the middle of your stay (well-rested) and the relaxing sunset day at the end (so you fly home calm). 200+ guests have confirmed this pacing in 2025.
