Is breakfast included?
The full Moroccan breakfast is available as an optional add-on at €5 per person. It is served every morning either in the patio or on the rooftop, depending on your preference. The breakfast includes Moroccan pancakes (msemen, baghrir), fresh bread, homemade jams, honey, butter, eggs, fresh fruit, freshly squeezed orange juice, mint tea and coffee. Excellent value for a generous and authentic breakfast.
Is there a pool at Riad Vendôme?
Yes, Riad Vendôme has a private pool in the central patio, a heated rooftop jacuzzi with panoramic Atlas Mountain views (optional at €25 per person (€44 for 2 guests) per hour), and a traditional Moroccan hammam. Pool access is included in the rate. Pool towels are provided.
How many rooms do you have?
Riad Vendôme has 12 rooms in the main riad, spread over three levels: the ground floor (Tan Tan, Merzouga, Zagora), the first floor (Ourika, Marrakech, Tanger, Asni, Essayesra, Ouarzazate, Oukaimeden) and the rooftop (Dakhla and Toubkal, our two newest rooms). A neighbouring riad offers 5 additional rooms, bringing the total capacity to 20 rooms, to accommodate 30, 35, 40, 45 guests during exclusive hires. Each room bears the name of a Moroccan city or region.
Is the riad suitable for families with children?
Absolutely. Several rooms are specially suitable for families: the Suite Junior Ourika (4 guests), the Suite Junior Tanger (our largest room, up to 5 guests with double bed + 3 single beds) and the Suite Junior Oukaimeden (4 guests). A baby cot can be added on request. Children love the pool in the patio and the rooftop. Eric and his team are used to accommodating families and can organise suitable activities.
What is the cancellation policy?
The cancellation policy is flexible: cancellation is completely free up to 14 days before the arrival date. If cancelled less than 14 days before arrival, the entire deposit is retained. Exception: for group bookings (exclusive hire of the riad), the booking and deposit are non-refundable. In case of force majeure, contact Eric directly via WhatsApp to find a solution together.
Is the airport transfer included?
Airport transfer is available on request: €15 daytime for 2 guests, €17 at night (Marrakech-Menara airport). A driver waits for you at the airport exit with a sign bearing your name and drives you straight to the riad in approximately 20 minutes. The return transfer to the airport is offered at the same rate. It's the simplest way to arrive stress-free. Contact Éric on WhatsApp to arrange your transfer.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept several payment methods: bank transfer (for the deposit), cash in euros, dollars or Moroccan dirhams on arrival, bank card, as well as cryptocurrency. The 30% deposit is paid by bank transfer to confirm the booking, and the balance can be settled on site by the payment method of your choice.
What facilities are in the rooms?
Each room of the Riad Vendôme is equipped with a private bathroom with shower in tadelakt, a 40-inch flat-screen TV with a complete package of international channels (Canal+, BeIN Sport, etc.), reversible air conditioning hot/cold, 100 Mb fibre-optic Wi-Fi, a hairdryer, quality toiletries, bath towels and pool towels. The mattresses are Simmons VIP for optimal comfort.
Is the riad accessible for wheelchair users or guests with reduced mobility?
Yes, the Suite Junior Zagora is located on the ground floor with step-free access and an accessible bathroom. It is one of the very few wheelchair-accessible rooms in any riad in the Marrakech medina. The room has 3 single beds and sleeps up to 3 guests. Is there a bar and a catering service?
Yes, Riad Vendôme has a fully licensed bar serving alcoholic drinks and cocktails, in the patio or on the rooftop depending on your preference. The riad also has a Moroccan restaurant with traditional cuisine prepared on site by our chef. A barbecue is available on the rooftop for group evenings. Sun loungers are set up on the panoramic rooftop with views of the Atlas Mountains.
Do you offer a concierge service?
Yes, Eric, the owner, provides a complete concierge service. He can organise for you: airport transfers, restaurant reservations, excursions in the desert - including the 3-day Marrakech to Merzouga round trip - or to Essayesra, Moroccan cooking classes, hammam and massage sessions, golf outings, and any tailor-made activity. Can you drop off luggage before the check-in?
Yes, absolutely. If you arrive in Marrakech before check-in time (15:00), you can drop off your luggage at the riad without any problem. The team will keep it secure while you enjoy the medina, the souks or lunch in town. You can then access your room as soon as it's ready. If you'd like to use the communal areas (pool, patio) while waiting, that's also possible.
Can you do an early check-in at Riad Vendôme?
Early check-in is an advantage reserved exclusively for clients who book directly with Eric, via WhatsApp on +212 600 608 608 or via the form on this page. If your room is available, you can settle in from your arrival, even before 15:00. This advantage is not offered for bookings made via online travel agencies.
Can you have the room decorated for a special occasion?
Yes, the Riad Vendôme offers the room decoration for special occasions: birthday, honeymoon, marriage proposal, Valentine's Day, hen party, or all other celebration. Rose petals, candles, cake, a bottle of champagne — anything is possible. This service is offered exclusively to clients who book directly with Eric. How long is the flight to Marrakech from the US and Canada?
There are no non-stop flights from the United States; from New York allow about 8 to 9 hours via Casablanca on Royal Air Maroc, which hubs there. From Canada, Royal Air Maroc runs a seasonal non-stop from Montreal to Casablanca, then a short connection to Marrakech. The riad is about 20 minutes from Marrakech-Menara airport.
Can you come with children?
Yes, families are welcome at Riad Vendôme. The pool and jacuzzi are accessible, connecting rooms accommodate your whole tribe, and a babysitter can be arranged on request (€20/evening) for a moment to yourselves. Just let us know you're coming with children when you book.
Where exactly is Riad Vendome located in Marrakech?
Riad Vendome is at 217 Derb El Halfaoui, in the Dar El Bacha district of the Marrakech medina. It is a 7-minute walk from Jemaa El-Fna square, close to the Koutoubia and the souks, so you reach the main sights on foot without needing a taxi. A member of staff meets you at the nearest vehicle drop-off point on arrival.
Can the whole riad be privatised, and for how many guests?
Yes, Riad Vendome can be hired exclusively. The main riad has 12 rooms and goes up to 20 rooms with our second riad 100 metres away, for exclusive hire of up to 45 guests. During an exclusive hire there are no other guests: the pool, hammam, jacuzzi and rooftop are reserved for your group alone.
Do I have one single contact for the rooms, the activities and the transfers?
Yes. Éric, the owner since 2011, is your single contact from the first message to your departure. One WhatsApp number, +212 600 608 608, covers the rooms, the hammam and massage slots, the cooking class with Chef Naima, the airport transfer and the excursions, and you receive a written quote within 24 hours. There is no call centre, no platform in the middle and no reservations department to chase. Transfers and outside activities are coordinated with an approved licensed transport partner, and Éric lines up the timings so the days fit together.
How big are the rooms and what is in them?
Between 10 and 22 m², depending on the room. Tan Tan is 10 m² for 2 guests on the ground floor, the junior suites Merzouga and Asni 15 m², Zagora and Essayesra and Ouarzazate and the Marrakech Romantic suite 18 m², the Dakhla Rooftop room 16 m² with direct terrace access, and the Oukaimeden mezzanine suite 22 m² for 4 guests. Is there Wi-Fi in the rooms, and is it fast enough to work?
Yes, 100 Mb fibre optic, free, in the rooms and in the common areas — the patio, the Moroccan lounge with its fireplace and library, and the rooftop. It carries video calls, which is why the riad is used for small seminars and for remote workers. If you need to hold a call at a set hour, tell Éric and he will point you to the quietest corner at that time of day.
What is the bathroom like, and is there air conditioning and heating?
Each room has its own bathroom, most with a tadelakt shower — the polished lime plaster used in Moroccan bathrooms — and the hot and cold air conditioning works as heating in winter, when Marrakech nights drop close to 5°C in January. Can I come by car, and where do I park?
Yes. There is free parking 100 metres from the riad, and car access is via Bab Doukkala or Bab El Khemis. The last 100 metres are on foot because the alleys of the old medina are pedestrian; Éric or a member of staff comes to meet you at the car park and carries the luggage. How do I get from Marrakech-Menara airport to the riad, and how much is it?
Marrakech-Menara is about 20 minutes away. The riad arranges a private transfer with an approved licensed transport partner: €15 by day and €17 at night for 2 guests. The driver waits with a sign and drops you at the car park 100 metres from the door, since the medina alleys are pedestrian, and we meet you there.
