The private pool at Riad Vendôme
Riad Vendôme's pool measures 5 metres by 3, located in the heart of the central patio under a canopy of tropical greenery. The water is salt-treated (no harsh chlorine) and maintained at a pleasant temperature year-round. In winter (December-February), it can be heated on request. It's the riad's central space — you can swim, dip your feet in while having tea, or set up tables for a gala dinner around the pool.
Unlike riads that have a simple decorative basin, our pool is designed for swimming. Families with children particularly appreciate the easy supervision from the surrounding patio. The small groups of 8, 10, 12, 14 people make the most of it without waiting.
The panoramic rooftop and heated jacuzzi
Le 300m² rooftop is the jewel of the Riad Vendôme. Open to the sky, it offers panoramic views of the Koutoubia, the medina rooftops and the snow-capped Atlas Mountains. The jacuzzi, heated to 36°C, is in place permanently — ideal for starry evenings. There are also outdoor massage tables, with sun loungers and lounge areas for aperitifs.
For events, the rooftop comfortably holds up to 60 people standing (cocktail) or 40 seated. It's the groups' favourite spot for intimate weddings, evenings of music all night on our sound system and Sunday-morning brunches.
The private hammam and spa treatments
The hammam of the Riad Vendôme is an authentic Moroccan hammam in marble and tadelakt (traditional polished lime plaster). Equipped with a professional steam generator, it comfortably accommodates 3 to 4 people per session. Your group can organise hammam + black soap scrub + argan oil massage rotations while others enjoy the pool or jacuzzi.
The massages are carried out by qualified therapists : relaxing massage (30min: €25, 60min: €38), essential-oil massage, hot-stone massage. For the hen-party groups, full spa packages are available from €45/person.
The bar and catering
Riad Vendôme has a licensed bar — a rarity among riads of the medina. Moroccan and imported beers, wine (Medaillon, Boulaouane, wines of the Domaine du Val d'Argan), spirits and cocktails are available. Service is provided in the patio, on the rooftop or in your room.
On the catering side, the riad's dedicated cook prepares a full Moroccan breakfast every morning: msemen, baghrir, crepes, homemade jams, fresh fruit, freshly squeezed orange juice, eggs, coffee and tea. For lunches and dinners, she cooks to order: tagines (chicken-lemon, lamb-prune, kefta), royal couscous, pastilla, tanjia, mechoui barbecue for large occasions. Expect €15-48/person for a full meal.
The rooms and bed configurations
The main riad has 12 rooms spread over 2 levels around the central patio. Each room has a en-suite bathroom (shower and/or bathtub), reversible air conditioning, fibre optic wifi and toiletries. Beds are configurable: doubles (king or queen), twin or triple depending on your group's composition.
The charming annexe, 100 metres away in the same alley, adds 5 more rooms (17 in total). It's ideal for groups of 25, 30, 35, 40 guests who need more space. Both buildings are managed by the same team and share the same quality standards.
Checklist: What to Know Before Your Stay
Airport transfer — Eric arranges a private shuttle for each sub-group based on flight times. Duration: 20 minutes from Marrakech-Menara airport. Cost: included in exclusive hire packages or €15/trip optional.
Climate and seasons — Marrakech enjoys 300 days of sunshine per year. Best period: March-May and September-November (25-30°C). Summer: 35-42°C (favour morning activities and enjoy the pool in the afternoon). Winter: 18-22°C (pleasant, ideal for sightseeing).
Visa and formalities — French, Belgian, Swiss and Canadian citizens do not need a visa for stays under 90 days. Passport valid for 6 months required. No vaccination required.
Currency and payment — The Moroccan dirham (MAD) is the local currency. €1 ≈ 11 MAD. At the riad, you can pay in euros or by bank transfer. ATMs are available everywhere in the medina.
What to bring — Swimwear, sun cream, comfortable walking shoes for the medina. The riad provides bathrobes, beach towels, a hairdryer, toiletries, an electrical adapter and chargers.

Private Hire Logistics — 100 metres from Bab Doukkala
Private hire of the entire Riad Vendôme involves complex logistics: 12 to 24 guests arriving from different flights, with luggage, decorations and event materials. Our location solves this: we are in the Dar El Bacha district, 100 metres from the Dar El Bacha Palace and 100 metres from Bab Doukkala, the northern medina gate. The free 24/7 car park accepts vans, minivans, 4×4s and luxury cars, and a flat 3-minute pedestrian walk takes everything to the riad.
For private hires, we coordinate group airport transfers (4×4 minivans 60€ for 4 guests, English-speaking drivers), staggered arrivals throughout the day, and event equipment delivery to the car park. Photographers, DJs, caterers, florists — all unload at Bab Doukkala and walk to the riad with porters. Predictable logistics that prevent the chaos of medina-deep riads.

Is the neighbourhood safe for walking around in the evening?
The neighbourhood Dar El Bacha is the safest in the medina. Both plain-clothes and uniformed police patrol constantly. You can stroll in the evening without worry. The riad's alley is quiet and well lit.

How long is the flight to Marrakech from the US and Canada?
There are no non-stop flights from the United States; from New York allow about 8 to 9 hours via Casablanca on Royal Air Maroc, which hubs there. From Canada, Royal Air Maroc runs a seasonal non-stop from Montreal to Casablanca, then a short connection to Marrakech.
