In late October and early November, expect 25 to 30°C during the day: you sightsee in a t-shirt and you can still swim normally in the patio pool. What a day looks like in Marrakech during the autumn break

What does a day actually look like? In the morning you set off on foot into the medina — the souks, Jemaa El Fna, the Bahia Palace — while the air is still mild. You come back for lunch at the riad or on a terrace nearby, then the afternoon splits between the patio pool for the children and a Spa moment for the parents (hammam, massage), before dinner on half-board prepared by Chef Naima, served in the patio or on the rooftop facing the lit Koutoubia.

The next day you alternate with a day out — the Agafay desert, the Atlas, or a longer run towards the Sahara — then a quieter day at the riad to recover. Getting ready: flights, arrival and what to pack

Marrakech is about a 3-hour flight from most major European cities, with plenty of direct flights and no significant time difference — a real advantage with children. On arrival at Menara airport, about fifteen minutes from the centre, we arrange a private transfer to the riad, then a few metres on foot down a flat lane to reach the house. There is no need to hire a car: inside the medina traffic is very restricted and everything is done on foot.

As for the suitcase, for the autumn break: light clothes for the daytime (t-shirt, dress, sunglasses, sun cream) since it is 25 to 30°C, a swimsuit for the pool, a jumper or light jacket for the cooler evenings around 15°C, and decent shoes for walking the souks. Slightly more covering clothing is appreciated when visiting certain traditional sites. Nothing complicated: you are packing for an extended summer, with just enough to cover the evenings.

Short break or full week
