Jardin Majorelle: children love the giant cacti, the fish and the iconic blue. Horse-drawn carriage: ramparts tour by horse-drawn carriage (1 hour, approximately €20). Jemaa El-Fna: the snake charmers, acrobats and fresh orange juice fascinate children. Parc Oasiria: water park 15 min by taxi.
Moroccan cooking class with Chef Naima: children take part and love preparing pastillas and crêpes Moroccans.

The riad is built around a patio with pool — children play safely while you read on the loungers. The family suites accommodate 3 to 4 guests. The rooftop offers spectacular views for a quiet moment after a day of exploration.

Nomad: panoramic terrace, children's portions. Cafe of the Spices: relaxed atmosphere, fresh juices. Al Fassia: refined Moroccan cuisine, children's menu. Or simply at the riad: Chef Naima prepares a Moroccan dinner to order (tagine, skewers, Friday couscous).
A family of 4 guests, 2 nights: approximately €200-350 in a family suite (light lunches included). The activities are very affordable: horse-drawn carriage €20, Jardin Majorelle €15/adult, free under 6. Book direct.
For a stay a week with family, Eric you organise a programme complete: excursion in the Ourika Valley, day trip pool, cooking class, and free time at the riad.
Most itineraries you will find online invent age limits for activities. We do not. Here is what we can state for the riad itself, and how we handle the rest.
| Under 2 years | Baby cot free of charge on direct booking. Bottle warming and fridge access in the kitchen on request. |
| Room capacity | Family rooms take 2 adults and up to 3 children. Connecting rooms available for larger families. |
| Pool | 5×3 m pool in the patio, visible from the breakfast tables and supervised at all times. No lifeguard: children remain under parental supervision. |
| Babysitting | €20 per evening, arranged with a member of our own staff, booked the day before. |
| Meals | Chef Naima cooks child portions with mild spices, and adapts to allergies you tell us about in advance. |
| Tourist tax | €3 per person per night, payable on site. |
| Activity age limits | Quad biking, camel rides, hot-air balloon and cooking classes each have their own minimum age set by the provider, and these change. We do not publish a number we cannot guarantee: send us your children's ages and we confirm in writing, before you pay anything, exactly which activities each child can join. |
Two practical points that most guides leave out. First, the heat: between 12:00 and 16:00 from May to September, the medina is hard going for a toddler. We build the mornings around one outing and keep the afternoon at the riad, by the pool, where it stays cooler under the patio. Second, pushchairs: the alleyways around Dar El Bacha are flat and wide enough for a pushchair, but the souks themselves are not — a baby carrier works better there. The riad is 7 minutes' walk from Jemaa el-Fna, so you come back for a nap and go out again without taking a taxi.
Tell us the ages of your children and we build the day-by-day around their naps, not around a brochure. Éric replies personally on WhatsApp +212 600 608 608, written quote within 24 hours.
With a child under three, plan one outing a day and keep the 12:00–16:00 nap window. Marrakech in the middle of the day is hot and loud, and a family that tries to fit two sights plus the souks into one day spends the evening managing a meltdown rather than eating dinner. The heated patio pool is what makes the difference: it is the reason the day works, not an extra. One contact throughout: Éric, owner since 2011 — WhatsApp +212 600 608 608, written quote within 24 hours.
| 08:30–09:30 | Moroccan breakfast on the rooftop or in the patio. Children eat early and then have the pool to themselves before the heat. |
| 10:00–12:00 | One outing, and one only. The Jardin Majorelle, the Bahia Palace or a slow walk to Jemaa el-Fna, 7 minutes away. Back before midday. |
| 12:00–16:00 | Lunch at the riad, then the nap window kept intact. This is the part families give up first and regret. Older children swim in the heated patio pool while the youngest sleeps. |
| 16:00–18:00 | Pool, or the second short outing if the children are older. The souks are calmer late afternoon than at midday. |
| 19:00–20:00 | Children's dinner by Chef Naima — plain chicken, pasta, chips and fruit if that is what works, said in advance and without judgement. |
| 20:30 | Parents' dinner in the patio once the children are down. On a request made when you book, Éric arranges a babysitter (€20 per evening). |
Yes, the riad is safe and quiet. Pool in the patio, family suites for 3-4 guests, children's menu available. The staff is used to families.
Jardin Majorelle, horse-drawn carriage around the ramparts, Jemaa El-Fna, cooking class, water park Oasiria. Eric organises everything on request.
All ages are welcome. From babies for adolescents, the riad adapts: lit baby available on request.
Approximately €200-350 for 2 nights in a family suite with light lunches.
Winter tip: A Marrakech family weekend in December or January pairs perfectly with a day at Oukaïmeden — Africa's highest ski resort, 75 km from Marrakech (1h30). Skiing, sledging, and donkeys in the snow while the UK is grey. Riad Vendôme coordinates the full day trip with an approved licensed transport partner.
Three days with children in Marrakech works best when you alternate between the high-stimulation environments and the calm retreat of the property. Day 1 arrival works well if you plan a simple poolside afternoon — children settle faster after the flight when there's a pool rather than immediately jumping into the medina. The hammam on the first evening (adults only, while Naima babysits for €17) sets up a relaxed first night.
Day 2 is the active day. Oasiria water park (4 km from the property, 15 minutes by taxi) is the consistent favourite for children of all ages — 17 water slides including a wave pool and lazy river, a dedicated toddler area, and a cafe for lunch. Return by 4pm, pool time, dinner. For families with older children (8+), the Ouzoud waterfalls excursion (2.5 hours each way) offers something completely different: wild Barbary macaques that approach visitors, a spectacular sequence of falls, and a natural swimming pool at the base. Naima prepares a packed lunch for the journey.
Day 3 — morning leisure, a short medina walk with Naima (she knows which sections are pushchair-navigable and which to avoid), lunch, and afternoon departure. Éric arranges the return transfer to the airport. Most families describe the three days as the right length: full without being exhausting, different without being overwhelming for younger children.

Compared to family hotel resorts in Gueliz (typically 800-1100 EUR for equivalent 2-night family package), Riad Vendôme offers 30-40% savings + authentic medina experience + kid-friendly Chef Naima cuisine. Last-minute weekends (5 days notice) often available.
There are no non-stop flights from the United States; from New York allow about 8 to 9 hours via Casablanca on Royal Air Maroc, which hubs there. From Canada, Royal Air Maroc runs a seasonal non-stop from Montreal to Casablanca, then a short connection to Marrakech. The riad is about 20 minutes from Marrakech-Menara airport, and US, Canadian and EU citizens do not need a visa for stays under 90 days.
Riad Vendome is at 217 Derb El Halfaoui, in the Dar El Bacha district of the Marrakech medina. It is a 7-minute walk from Jemaa El-Fna square, close to the Koutoubia and the souks, so you reach the main sights on foot without needing a taxi. A member of staff meets you at the nearest vehicle drop-off point on arrival.
You book directly with the riad, not through a platform. Send your dates and group size on WhatsApp at +212 600 608 608 and you receive a written quote within 24 hours. There is no automated booking engine: every stay is confirmed by a person, and the payment terms are set out in the quote you receive.
Yes, Riad Vendome can be hired exclusively. The main riad has 12 rooms and goes up to 20 rooms with our second riad 100 metres away, for exclusive hire of up to 45 guests. During an exclusive hire there are no other guests: the pool, hammam, jacuzzi and rooftop are reserved for your group alone.
Yes. One person, Éric, owner of the riad since 2011, organises the whole group stay: rooms, hammam and massage slots, meals by Chef Naima, the airport transfers and the activities. You write to a single WhatsApp number, +212 600 608 608, and you get one written quote within 24 hours instead of five separate providers to chase. Transfers and outside activities are coordinated with an approved licensed transport partner. For a group, this is the difference between one conversation and a dozen email threads.
