The problem with the last day
Check-out at midday, a flight at 19:00 or 22:00: seven to ten hours to fill, suitcases to carry, the heat, and the wish to end the stay as something other than a wander through the souks loaded like a mule. And above all: the fear of missing the plane stops you starting anything at all, so you do nothing. It is the worst used moment of most stays, when with a taxi booked in advance and an airport 20 minutes away it can become the most pleasant and the most restful.
The riad as a base camp until you leave

Can I do the cooking class on my departure day?
Yes if your flight is in the evening: the class starts at 11:00, runs for 3 hours, lunch of your own dishes is included, and the afternoon is free by the pool. Book the day before at the latest.
Can I shower and change before a night flight?
Yes: the hammam late in the day is the best shower in the world, and you change at the spa before leaving for the airport feeling fresh.
How do I get to the airport from the riad?
A private transfer booked by the riad from €15 (1 to 3 people), about 20 minutes by road; we set it to the time of your flight, by day or by night.
How much does the day pass cost?
€38 per person (pool, jacuzzi and lunch) or €75 in the Prestige version with the full spa. There is no family rate: the day pass is the same price per person. Payment in cash on site.
Do I have to be staying at the riad to use it?
No: the day pass, the spa and the cooking class are open to outside visitors on reservation, with your luggage kept during the session.
What if my flight leaves early in the morning?
Somebody is at the riad 24 hours a day: a night transfer or an early morning one is booked without difficulty (€20 for 1 to 3 people from 22:00).
Can we come as a family on the last day?
Yes: the pool sits in the enclosed patio under the parents' supervision, lunch is quiet, and the children board the plane tired from the pool rather than from the souks.
What can I do in Marrakech during a 6 to 10 hour layover?
A round trip to the riad: 20 minutes by road each way, a hammam, a proper lunch, a swim, then back to the airport with the taxi booked for you. Allow at least 5 hours of layover to be comfortable.
Can I book in the morning for the same day?
Day pass and spa: often yes, subject to availability, ask on WhatsApp. The cooking class has to be booked the day before at the latest.
Where can I spend the afternoon when it is very hot on the last day?
In the cool of the patio: pool, jacuzzi, shaded sitting areas. Keep the medina for the end of the day, when the heat drops and the souks come back to life.
Can I buy some last souvenirs near the riad?
Yes, the entrance to the souks is a few minutes on foot and Rue Dar El Bacha is lined with concept stores and craftsmen; your purchases join your luggage kept at the riad.
