A practical tip for a golf holiday in a riad: make sure you choose a property close to a medina gate (such as Bab Doukkala). Riad Vendôme & Spa is just 100 metres from Bab Doukkala, reached by taxi in 20 minutes from the airport. Your golf bags are loaded into the car in under 3 minutes, with no need to wheel them through narrow alleys. It is a major logistical detail golfers check before booking, because golf bags (10-15 kg) do not suit the 200-400 m pedestrian lanes typical of other medina riads.

Caddies in Marrakech

Caddies are compulsory on most Marrakech courses. They know their course perfectly, give you playing advice and carry your bag. The caddy is included in our packages (1 caddy for 2 players). The tip is at your discretion (€10-15 per caddy recommended).

Equipment hire: if you do not travel with your clubs, every course offers quality rental sets (full Callaway, TaylorMade or Titleist sets). Allow €30 to 50 per set. Eric can also arrange delivery of rented clubs straight to the riad.

Securing tee times: why book through us

It is something many golfers discover the hard way: in Marrakech, getting a guaranteed tee time on the most sought-after courses is not automatic. The Royal Golf, Amelkis and Samanah are often fully booked weeks ahead, especially in high season (October to May) and at weekends.

If you book yourself from abroad, here is what usually happens:

  • Course websites show available slots, but online bookings are not always honoured on arrival
  • Email replies can take 3 to 7 days, sometimes more
  • Preferred times (8-10am in winter) go first to tour operators and regulars
  • Last-minute changes (weather, the group’s mood) are very hard to manage remotely
