The Riad Vendôme : your base golf in Marrakech
A boutique riad in the medina, not a suburban resort. Riad Vendôme is located in the Dar El Bacha neighbourhood, 7 minutes' walk from Jemaa El-Fna. After your round, you return to a real Moroccan riad with its patio fountain, zelliges, oriental hammam and heated rooftop jacuzzi with views of the Koutoubia and Atlas Mountains. In the evening, dine at the riad or head out to medina restaurants — an experience golf resorts simply can't offer.

The caddies are obligatoires on the plupart of the courses of Marrakech. Ils connaissent perfectly their courses, give you of the game tips and portent your sac. Le caddy is included in our packages (1 caddy for 2 joueurs). Le pourboire is to your discretion (10-£15 by caddy recommended).
Location de equipment : if you don't travel with your clubs, all courses offer the equipment rental of quality (full sets Callaway, TaylorMade or Titleist). Expect 30 to £50 by set. Eric can also organise the delivery de clubs loues directly at the riad.

Marrakech: Africa's Premier the destination
The Palm Meadows and Royal Amelkis circuits attract players from across Europe for good reason: year-round mild weather (18–28°C), impeccably maintained fairways, and a backdrop of the Atlas Mountains that makes even a bogey feel worthwhile. The greens here are notably fast — Agadir veterans often comment that Marrakech courses require a recalibration of approach. Book your tee times at least 3 days in advance during peak season (October–April).
What makes Riad Vendôme the ideal base for a golfing stay is the combination of proximity and flexibility. The Palmeraie cluster of courses is 15 minutes by taxi, the Royal and Amelkis clubs are 25 minutes. After your round, you return to a private pool, a rooftop jacuzzi at 36°C, and a hammam — an unusual luxury for a course-adjacent stay. What to Know Before Playing in Marrakech
The courses around Marrakech are designed for serious play. Royal Marrakech (formerly known as the Royal Palace Course) was designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and is considered one of Africa's finest layouts — demanding, beautifully maintained, with a back nine that genuinely challenges low handicappers. Amélyis and Al Maaden offer more accessible alternatives for mixed-ability groups who want enjoyable rounds without the pressure of a championship track.
Booking tee times directly through the clubs is possible, but Éric at Riad Vendôme handles this for groups as part of the stay package — saving time and ensuring the correct number of buggy bookings, club hire arrangements and caddie coordination. For groups of 8+, there are often block booking options during the week that reduce green fees significantly compared to individual Saturday bookings.
One practical note: bring sunscreen even in winter. Marrakech sits at 480m altitude and the UV index remains high year-round. A round in February starts at 12–14°C in the morning but reaches 22–24°C by midday. A light layer over your polo for the first few holes is advisable. Shoes with soft spikes are strongly recommended — metal spikes are prohibited on most courses in the city.
